Can you take a vape on a plane?
Yes. You can bring your vape when flying from the UK, but it must be in your hand luggage. Vapes (and spare batteries) are not allowed in checked bags because of lithium-battery fire risk.
The key rules (quick list)
- Carry-on only
Keep your device and any spare batteries with you in cabin baggage. Don’t pack them in hold luggage. - Turn it off / prevent firing
Make sure the device can’t activate accidentally (switch off, lock, or remove refill if needed). - E-liquid limits apply
Any e-liquid/refills you carry must follow airport liquid rules: containers up to 100 ml, inside a clear 1-litre bag. Prefilled refills are fine as long as they fit these limits. - No vaping on the plane
Vaping is banned onboard all commercial flights. Do not use it in your seat or in the toilets. - Don’t charge it onboard
Most airlines prohibit charging vapes during the flight. - Check your airline + destination rules
Airlines can set their own limits on how many devices/refills you can carry. Also, some countries restrict or ban vapes entirely, so check local laws before you travel.
Because of cabin pressure, keep refills sealed and store the device upright to reduce leaking.
